Kjersti Mo, Director of the Norwegian Film Institute, has been taken on six new years. What is the ambition for this periode? Where are we headed? What decisions will be crucial in the coming years? And perhaps most importantly, what opportunities arise for a film industry that is experiencing both a golden age and a crisis at the same time? Where should Norwegian cinema be in six years from now? What opportunities are opening up, and which decisions will prove crucial? How can Norwegian film build on the international recognition already established, through strong, diverse voices and new talents shaping a progressive film landscape?
Following an introduction by Kjersti Mo and Leiv Igor Devold (Head of the Norwegian Film Directors’ Association – NFR), the conversation welcomes director Halfdan Ullman Tøndel, who won at Cannes with Armand and has had major success with his debut feature; Andrea Ottmar, producer of Armand, Joachim Trier’s The Worst Person in the World, Sentimental Value, and a long line of emerging Norwegian talents; as well as producer Ingvild Giske, known for Benjamin Ree’s The Painter and the Thief, Ibelin, and Øystein Mamen’s Punishment, among many others and director/writer behind The Innocents, The Worst Person in the World and Sentimental Value Eskil Vogt.
Together with Kjersti Mo, they will attempt to set the tone for what lies ahead for the industry. The discussion will be moderated by award-winning producer Tonje Skar Reiersen (Mikrofilm).
