As always uncompromising and distinctive, Paul Tunge has once again explored the relationship between inner and outer dynamics, where the external space and surroundings form an intricate framework for delving into the multidimensional nature of the characters’ inner struggles.
Tunge has made a name for himself as the king of zero-budget filmmaking, a rebel tucked away outside the filmmaking system, who makes films no matter the cost. Still he is defined as one of Norwegian cinema’s most uncompromising, auteur-driven filmmakers, and once again show that film, like painting, becomes original, personal, and profound when it is created through a method in which the artist is allowed to be in control, shaping his canvas through a personal process.
