DAY 2: Music vs Sound in Cinema (and the Blur in Between)
Gisle Tveito, Ola Fløttum
The collaboration between sound and music is crucial in cinema, and often there is a blur between the two. How do the composer and sound designer work together to develop the psychology and emotional perception in the audience's mind? And how does the collaboration between them function in balancing emotions, and the emotional impact of music in the film? When working with sound designers and composers, how can directors best explain and discuss their vision and ideas concerning sound and music in film? Join for a conversation with two pioneers of Norwegian sound-work.

Ola Fløttum is a Norwegian musician and composer. He has been a member of the bands The White Birch and Salvatore, and has composed film scores for movies such as Reprise, Oslo, 31. august, Turist, Mot naturen, and Thelma.
