MOMENT documentary workshop for young filmmakers interested in exploring documentary as a creative and artistic form. Over the course of four days, participants will develop and produce a short documentary film – from initial idea and research, through shooting and editing, to the final screening.
The workshop focuses on character-driven and creative documentary – films that go beyond facts to create presence, emotion, and empathy. Participants will be introduced to storytelling and research methods, practical work with camera and editing, and approaches to engaging with people in front of the camera.
In addition to the workshop, participants will receive a festival pass to MIRAGE Film Festival, where they can get inspiration from artistic documentaries, connect with fellow filmmakers, and experience the atmosphere of an international film festival.

The course runs over two weekends, October 4–5 and 11–12, 2025, from 10:00 to 16:00.
You will also be able to watch films and attend social events throughout MIRAGE, taking place October 8–12.
No prior experience is required to participate.

About the instructors
Emily Louisa Millan Eide is a documentary filmmaker educated at the Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences in Lillehammer. Her latest film, Renessanseprinsen, was nominated for a Gullruten award and is available on NRK.
Barbora Hollan is a photographer educated at the Academy of Art, Architecture and Design in Prague, and a documentary film director from The Norwegian Film School. She is currently launching her first feature-length documentary I Follow Rivers.
