PORNOMELANCOLÍA delves elegantly and thoughtfully into reflections on sex, its public representation, and societal taboos surrounding a perfectly natural human activity. Exploring the dynamics of being public yet feeling isolated, and the personas we construct to reveal or conceal ourselves from the world. It is a metaphor for a widespread, if not all-encompassing, loneliness caused by small and big screens; an epitaph for intimacy. Lalo Santos’ unwavering commitment to his physical and emotional self enables Manuel Abramovich to offer a perceptive and sensitive glimpse into this world of both porn and the more common idea of our alter-ego digital lives.
